schizophrenia is because of too much dopamine. parkinson's is because of too little dopamine. it's funny because the medications for schizophrenia, if too much, can cause parkinson's symptoms. and too much parkinson's medications can cause psychiatric disturbances. so i guess the opposite of mental illness is a movement disorder. so dopamine is the thing that connects the ideas, perceptions, thoughts to the physical. what a lucky chemical. and it's just made from an ordinary tyrosine amino acid.
